My humble message for the New Year 2014

Good morning my fellow Sabahans!

With the increase of the  electricity tariff with effect from 1st January, 2014, the prices of goods and services are expected to escalate and thus "lead to inflation throughout Malaysia in the initial stage", as mentioned by the governor of Bank Negara Malaysia.

Sabahan will definitely feel the big blow. I will not elaborate "why",  as most Sabahan, even the kampung folks know and will feel the pinch. Bravo! to the Sarawakians, as they are spared by the increase.

What shall we Sabahan  do? We like it or not, we are now in 2014. Let's usher into the New Year with strong determination and with a positive mind. Let us be focused and prioritize:-

Just my piece of mind (secebis minda) to share;

1. Avoid complexity in life. Change our lifestyle. Go for healthy lifestyle to reduce our medical bills and increase our productivity. To be healthy, opt for jogging at the nearest park to your home. It is cheaper than going to our medical doctor when we fall ill.

2. Recognize the changing time. Utilize modern technology to save our hard earned money:-

*  Use Whatsapp, Wechat, Line, Facebook, Yahoo Messenger, Skype and other applications available "free" online instead of smses or calls from your mobile phone. Not everybody's mobile phone has that facilities though, but for us who has that, use it. Another good option is; use home wifi package that allows us to call "foc" to all fixed line, whether locally or even  internationally. That is a very good offer that we should go for. By the way, I am enjoying that facility in my home.

* Go for internet banking.

i)   When dealing with your banking transactions, use online banking. That would save your time, money and all the stresses you have to go though like;  driving on the road with heavy traffic jam that hardly move, getting a parking that you need to pay, or even being compounded for illegal parking, and the hassle of having to wait for your bank teller number to be called. So, why not! Utilize the internet banking where you can do your banking transactions just in front of your computer at the comfort of your home.

ii) If you don't have a wifi at home, you may just go to any cyber cafe nearby, where you can go online and do your banking transactions there, instead of running from bank to bank where you maintained your housing loan, car loans, etc.

Do you find this helpful? Share your ideas here to add on to what I have shared.

May you have a blessed and wonderful year 2014.

God bless everyone of us. Thank you
